Slow, Keeper, Auction, Contract....why not a LIVE?

We did a live auction with an AOL IM Chatroom and it worked better than expected.

2 musts: 1) Get people with auction experience -- nothing worse than having newbies ask questions every 2 seconds and complain because they don't understand things 2) Have at least 2 people in charge -- an auctioneer and someone tracking $$.

If you get a bunch of mentally challenged people -- it won't work. As they aren't patient and their immaturity ends up shining through.

Is this a mock or a real auction? If it's a mock, then I don't see any reason to keep out people without auction experience - especially if they are hanging around this board. They'll know enough about fantasy baseball that they'll be okay. Even if it's real, I don't know about keeping out newbies. Okay, I admit it, I'm biased. I'VE never done an auction in all my years of fantasy baseball, and I'd love to give one a try.

I can't do it this weekend, but I'll keep an eye on this thread. I'd like to try out a live mock auction sometime this off-season. If the schedule works out, and there is a spot open, then I may try to join. Otherwise, I'll wait for another mocktion to get started.

Hmmm....I might have to drop out because I work three hours after start time. I don't want to take the chance of it going longer and screw it up. I'll definitely let you know ahead of time tomorrow.

It went completely over my head. Lol. Probably because today has geared around bowling 100% for me today. Had to tune it out when I got here and think baseball.

My previous post has nothing to do with your league / mock draft / whatever you guys are assembling here.

I usually don't do mocks unless I have absolutely nothing else to do. Done 2 previous mock drafts (not here) and neither time was their any organization to it and was a complete mess. I figure the next time I'll do a mock, I'll be the one organizing it -- I don't want to waste my time or the time of others.

I'm not in the league / mock draft here. I was mentioning how our league does our live auction.
