H2H Points League

Postby silverZ » Wed Mar 21, 2007 5:43 pm

Here is the scoring system and my roster. It's a pretty shallow 10 team league. The point system looks like it favors sluggers and horses like Halladay who rake in the wins and IP. Top closers can pile up the points too. I'm happy with the team now. Any thoughts?

looks great to me. i'd maybe dump torres for a young pitcher on a team that'll get him a lot of wins. like anthony reyes, philip hughes or maybe brandon mccarthy. doubt torres will get many save opportunities for the pirates. gonzalez converted every chance he got with them and still only had 24 saves. maybe grab oliver perez if you're believing in his spring. he'll definitely get the run support and he has potential to rack up the Ks.

I like the team a lot overall. I do a few leagues with the exact same points format, and the points really balance out for most positions. Innings horses are definately a plus, and stikeout pitchers are helpful too. Regarding closers, it is generally good to start a closer or two, but their points are very inconsistent. Starting three could lead your points to fluctuate and lose when your closers don't get opportunities. If you figure you start 2 closers, then you have room for aces in one start weeks and a few decent two start options.
