Yahoo 12 team roto 5x5, just drafted. I have some concerns and I think I made a few mistakes, but wondering where I could improve to compete. I dropped Lincecum thinking he may not start the season in the rotation and picked up Piniero thinking he'll be Bostons closer to pick up saves.

Guillen you probably could have gotten later. was there a run on SS'S?

Your SP'ing is nice. Bush is a solid sleeper this year. solid all the way through. Lincecum I think is ok to draft where you did. He's a stud.

The top 5 SS were gone by the 4th round and I panicked a little and picked up Guillen. I think I could have waited for the 5th round who knows. My outfielder picks were based some on performance so far this spring. Hawpe and Teahen helped me get through the season when Ensberg was injured and just seemed to be a bust after that last year.

I like a lot of your guys, but you didn't get good value on many. That's not damning to a team; you still have very useful parts. It's just not a draft that wins a league by itself (and when have I ever done that?). You'll be a contender with some trading -- most everyone on your team would have appeal to the other owners.

Except one...

I really dislike Lane. Scott's playing over him in RF. If you could make that switch (or pick up someone like Corey Hart), I would now.

Definitely get some OF help... when Baldelli likely dings himself again, you're going to be completely dead there.

You reached for many guys... Kent at 69? You must be really high on him, or something... I usually see him last well past 100. Morneau at 21. I don't think he repeats his performance last season. Plus, I generally think Mauer goes far too early. Guillen probably would have been there a bit later as well. This messed your whole team up.

Decent team, but definitely trade for a Top 3 OF.

I ended up picking up Piniero a day before they announced Papelbon as the closer for Boston... <img src=/forums/images/smiles/kiss.gif> Reminding me why I'm a Yankee fan. I did drop Piniero for Tankersly to help me with some saves.

I snagged Hart for Lane. Does my OF's really look that bad? I am kind of banking on Victorino being my sleeper.

The talk about Mauer's injury is scaring me a little and wonder if I should shop him in a package deal for another catcher and OF?

Your OF is thin and bottom heavy. It's likely amongst the worst in your league. Baldelli is someone who could get hurt tying his shoes. Teehan will soon qualify in the OF, and that will help. Ibanez is perpetually underrated in fantasy, but he's getting older, and even though he exceeds expectations most years, he's more like a Matsui light than a Guerrero light. Hawpe was awesome last year, and his season in many ways is critical for you: if he's platooned (sat against lefties), you're in trouble. If he plays as good as he was for most of last year, you're looking better.

Because there's risk for all of your three top guys (Baldelli, Hawpe, Ibanez), you really need good backups, and I think Hart and Teehan qualify there. You're very smart to have them. Freel's no slouch either: he might bat .300 and get 50 steals in a Figgins-light type season.

I really don't know about Victorino. I'm a little afraid his own team would say the same.

I made the trade offer. The other team has Freddy Sanchez and Chad Tracy for 3b. With Sanchez hurt, he's asking for a 3b trade so maybe he'll bite with Teahen.

I like Victorinos possibilities. He has a little pop in his bat and has speed and is working with Davey Lopes. .372 2hr 4sb this spring so far
