Julio Franco was the only Atlanta free agent to be offered arbitration. He could return to split time with Adam LaRoche at first base

it looks like the braves will not be winning their 13 divisional championship in a row they at least should of offered arbitration to sheffield and lopez. going to be a long summer for bobby cox & the boys in Atlanta this yr

England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.
I have to admit that with the Braves rotation, and losing some good bats, things do not look bright for them right now.

I didn't predict doom for them last year.
Next year is scary right now though.

i think john thomson is a good pick up for the bravos. he went 13-14 last season for texas. if he can 13 in arlington, who knows what he might do with a good team backing him up.
at the very least the braves picked up a very serviceable 5th starter. hopefully, they can add at least one other arm that could be a possible starter.
let me take u back a few years as i am the ghost from braves winning seasons past. let me take u back to the year of "the mets" the year they were supposed to dominate the braves after picking up huge names like roberto alomar, mo vaughn, and roger cedano, just to name a few. the braves that year DOMINATED the mets. this past year was the year of "the phillies", they had a young gun rotation, with adding kevin millwood hitting the braves twice by adding him. they also added the big name and dollar first baseman that was going to carry the phillies to the promise land, a man by the name of jim thome( and dont forget the dreaded loss of the great one who would give the mets the rotation that would atleast put them past the braves).now this year has come upon us where the braves are in the same position as they have been for the past few years after loosing some big name players and the only thing i have to say is remember the past, so u wont make the same mistakes in the future, but i guess some people just dont learn.
