the b soxs are dong themselves in if they do the a-rod trade there going to waste a big chunk of oney on 1 player basically in a sense they would be paying a-rod more money the rangers on a-rods contract on ayearly bases than rangers are now if the bo soxs have to pay some of manny contract. But as a ranger and astros fan i like this trade to screw over a big market club .

The Sox shouldn't be looking for ways to send Nomar to California, they should be looking to bring Mia east...
Seriously, how much money would it cost to bring Mia Hamm to the Breakers? It has to be a whole lot less than adding A-Rod to the payroll...

They are already paying a huge contract with Manny and next year the difference is only going to be 1 mill...
1) Manny is a cancer, and if we can move him, great.
2) Nomar does not want to play for the Sox. This isn't about Mia, it's about Nomar wanting to go back to SoCal.
3) That said, if you can swap a bad contract for a bad contract, I'm all for it.
4) It's not worth it if we have to pick up a substantial amount of Manny's contract, unless Arod knocks off a similar amount of money off his.
Yes, it would suck to lose two All-stars for the price of one, but since I expect (and perhaps Theo, too) that Nomar wants to leave, then I say get what we can now. However, I also think that if we can't work it out on our terms than try to win it all this year with the two of them and get the draft picks for Nomar.
I trust Theo to do what's right. (I'm not sure I've ever said that about a Sox GM of late!)
If this trade goes through, then depending on how much of Manny's salary the Red Sox pick up they will be paying $30-$35 million for the SS position.
Not a good deal.

But Arod is the best player in the league, and will be for years to come. If he goes to sox, he can actually win the MVP legitamally. Arod and the Red Sox management has met, and there has been talk of a restructuring of his contract. I say, if we get Arod, trade Nomar to anaheim for Troy Glaus, and then move Muellar to second, his natural position(I think).

Going to huge someday.

Arod did win the MVP legitamently. Actually, he won it against all odds against him. He should have won it in '02 as well.
