Rays May Try New Lineup

With results not coming maddon may go to a National League Type lineup:

CC
Zobrist (high avg, can bunt to move runners)
Rocco
Wiggy
Norton
DY
Cantu
Navarro
Aki

moving DY down would spread out the hitters and having the topp look like that we may be able to score some runs

Our optimal lineup has Upton leading off. Nobody can match his OBP or his speed at the leadoff position. I would have no problem with Zobrist hitting 2nd, but Rocco needs to bulk up a bit if we are going to have him hitting 5th or 6th in the future.

I want Upton in the lineup as well. I have read in the paper today that he will be getting 4-5 days in the lineup a week in various positions as long as he makes the team

and thats good getting him a few starts here and there although I beleive he or Dukes should be in the DH spot over Gomes

I like that lineup and it really does spread out the hitters evenly

i dont like crawford leading off.
but at least theres someone that can hit in every part of the lineup

The more I think about it the more I like the idea of C.C. leading off

giving him more AB he will hit more HR, score more R, and I think it will benefit him all together.

DY is fine at 6th in the lineup until he gets more experience though I say you switch Cantu and Aki in the lineup

if Zobrist can keep this batting average up then he is fine batting second and it should increase all of his numbers across the board and make him more valuable then he would be batting at the end of the lineup

I think rocco is good at 3rd in the lineup and he has wiggy to drive him in

and norton who I beleive if he ges a starting role somewhere then he could hit 15 HR + and have some nice stats across the board but 5th might be early for him I say switch him with DY in the 6th spot

Cantu at 7th is fine and his RBIs shouldn't suffer to much althoug he will have less of an opportunity to show off his power

Navarro at 8th here is like having him at 9th in a normal AL lineup because Cantu's bad OBP so he wont have much to drive in but if he can get on base I think this could be the most important part of the lineup

Aki at 9th is good but I think he could move up, hes better than this and I think putting him here kills his confidence and takes away his chances, batting 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th, in this lineup his R would be higher, his HR, RBI, and every stat other than BA would be up if he didn't bat 9th but who knows

overall I like the experiment

They plan on using it more, but CC does hate leading off and he is already grumbling about not wanting to lead off

I think that you just have to make him unhappy with the recent production surges that we have been seeing


also I am campaigning Dukes for DH

raised his BA to .315, and has about 6/7 RBI if I beleive and is just looking ready to hit MLB pitching
