platooning in fantasy baseball

I find this to be an underutilized strategy.

Last year, I drafted up Magglio, Hawpe, and Mike Jacobs, and rotated them between in my UT spot. I only played Magglio away, Hawpe at home, and Jacobs vs. righties.

It worked quite well (and would have worked better if Hawpe wasn't putrid away).

Who are some guys that have significant splits that I can rotate in (specfiically lefty/righty splits - since home/away splits are easier for me to find) utilizing a similar strategy? Hawpe will be too expensive this year - probably Ordonez too. But I will still likely utilize Jacobs, maybe Wily Mo Pena too.

Any other guys you can think of that will be great vs. righties and poor vs. lefties (or vice versa) which will depress their overall numbers so they can be drafted late?

Jenkins is always strong vs righties.

Bonds is extremely good if you put him out of your lineup on his days off.

Flawed SB guys like Ryan Freel can be nice if you only play them against bad C's.

A super cheap steal strategy is platooning Dave Roberts and/or Kenny Lofton. They don't get enough abs to be regulars, but they hit righties and rack up steals and runs.

ZiPS excel file includes which way batters hit. I just know guys that have major platoon splits, because I almost always fill out OF and Util slots with this type of guy because they are so undervalued.

Roberts got 499 AB last year. He's a very undervalued player who can get you a .290 AVG and upwards of 50 steals, even if you're not fully platooning him.

Brad Hawpe, Coors Field and hits righties well... Although he was much better away from Coors (16/6 HR split!). Really I just think he's going to be very good overall.
