First, I didn't mean to start a war about small market and large market teams. It is a debate that no matter what is said, chances are you'll never change the other guys mind
So now that's out of the way. I am looking for opinions on Nintendo's Gamecube. One of my children wants a game console for Christmas and the price on the Gamecube is 1/2 the cost of a PS2 or XBox.
Hmm, I would say PS2. Many more games available. X-Box might be a better system but lack a good selection of games. GC has Mario and Zelda. About all the others don't.
The girls like the Gamecube more because the games have a more animated look. The X-box and ps2 try to go for a more realistic look, so most of their games are either sports, racing or a shooting game. The Gamcube has animation, like mario, and plot lines that a girl is more likely to enjoy.
There is no doubt that you should get her the Gamecube, and I bet thats what you wanted to hear since it does save you a pretty penny.

Yeah last year I saw some guy buy GTA 3 for his son who looked to be about 7 or 8! I guess a kid's never too young to learn how to have sex with a hooker, kill her, and take her money!
I have a 7 year old daughter and a 5 year old son, I am buying them their own PS2 this year for Christmas. Hmm, Jax and Daxter, the Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy are some games that your daughter might enjoy among others. Hope that helps a little. Plus there are some Barbie games also for the PS2.
God, I never got my own TV in my room until I had almost graduated high school. Mine have a TV each and a game system and DVD player to share. I was born way too soon.
Way to go guys, get his 11 year old daughter hooked on stealing cars, selling drugs, and killing gang members but seriously, you might want to consider Game Cube. It's oriented more towards kids, as opposed to PS2, which IMO is mainly purchased for Madden 2004 ( ) and Grand Theft Auto. Plus, GC is half the money like you said. And Mario Kart is awesome
