The Cards need to trade him while his value is still high. We need pitching, and im willing to give up Edmonds or Drew to get it. Hopefully we can find something out there better than Odalis Perez though.

I only skimmed the article, so it probably said this and I missed it, but when is Edmonds slated to be ready to play again?

edmonds said it wasnt bad in september but flared up in october/november making surgery necessary. it is supposedly pretty minor but he will have to take 6 weeks off. he is slated to start opening day, but then again izzy was supposed to be ready early in the season so who knows.

the cardinals will need to keep edmonds around and acquire some pitching if they want to win the central. he is supposedly working out a deal to defer money which will hopefully make that possible.
