1st off How would u rank Wood in a top prospect list minus players who will be in the bigs to start this year - u know AG, Delmon etc..

2nd - What projections as to the type of player do u have. Pls include #s & a player he may be like. Will he eventually be a 2B or #B?

3rd - When do u expect him up?

Also Could u answer the same 2nd & 3rd Question for Humberto Sanchez?

Brandon Wood- He has been working on a new swing this pre-season to cut down on the strikeouts. I know that spring training stats aren't suppose to mean a whole lot but, he's only struck out 3 times in 21 at bats. He needs to work on his plate discipline some more but, if it works out then a major question has been answered.I personally am a huge fan of Brandon's. I think he'll hit for plus power and a avg of .280-.290 in the majors annually. As far as compared to the likes of Alex Gordon, Delmon Young well it's tough to say. I think Wood is a top 5 hitting prospect in the minors. I'd probably rank them as of right now Alex Gordon, Delmon Young, Cameron Maybin, Evan Longoria, and Brandon Wood. I think Wood should arrive sometime in 2007.

Humberto Sanchez- I just don't think this guy will amount to much of a fantasy threat. I just don't see his body holding up and I think he'll have a lot of injury problems (based purely on his history). I am not high on Sanchez as some might be. He might arrive in 2007 or 2008 health permitting. I think he'll be a middle releaver.

Wood should see the majors sometime this year because the Angels desperately need a power bat. I would say his ceiling is a Troy Glaus Adam Dunn type of player. I dont think he will hit .280-.290 in the majors. He is easily a top 5 hitting prospect because of his light tower power.

Wood is a power threat with some speed. Maybe 40 homers and as many as 15-17 steals in his prime. He should hit around 280ish and probably will never have a batting average above 300.

Wood's power is massive, but the strikeouts are a concern. Its good to hear that he is working to cut them down, because if he does, he will be lethal.

Right now with the strikeouts, his upside is Troy Glaus circa 2000-2001 with less walks, which is pretty nasty. He can hit .250-.270 and still be a fantasy stud because of his power.

Scouts seem to think he'll be an average defender at SS, but out of necessity, the Angels are giving him time at 3b. He'll be up at some point this year. He won't hit for much average at all in his initial exposure, but how he adjusts will determine just how good he becomes.

As for Humberto, i think he'd fair better in the pen. If he sticks at starter and remain healthy (a big ?), he could be similar to the current version of Javy Vazquez. I think he'll see the show this year as well at some point.

For Wood, I expect big things. On a list where Young, Gordon and Dice-K are out, he could Rank as High as 4th, behind Maybin, Hughes and Bailey.
