EugeneStyles nailed the bonus question (wasn't too tough, was it?).

As a hint to the main question, this event happened last month, and was accomplished by a pitcher who won his first game in 1987. You'd think this would at least have gotten some sort of write-up, considering how difficult this feat is...

He's been there forever and he's quite okay as a pitcher and he was on some good teams...
