My first year in H2HWS---International league

This was my first live draft this year, I think I did okay...but I usually look through rose colored glasses...what do you think?

12. (160) Mike Piazza C (should play a lot since he isn't catching)

14. (188) Aubrey Huff 3B,OF (insurance on Gordon)

Yeah, you made a few reaches here and there. Andruw Jones was taken a round or two early. You're really rolling the dice on Harden and Weaver in the 4th and 6th respectively and who knows if Drew and Gordon live up to the hype for where you drafted them.

I find that building a team top-heavy in offense the first few rounds is the way to go in H2H. I always look at the first 6 rounds to dictate the rest of my draft. Ideally, I want 4 top offensive players, 1 top ace, and if there's a top-line RP left, 1 top closer to build my team around. I find that this philosophy works and you might want to incorporate that in future drafts.

I think you really reached for Andruw, Harden and Gordon. I dunno if I'd use a pick that high on pure speculation and prospect. Drew was drafted a little high too. I also agree with going offensive minded in H2H. I'd try to package one of your SP aces for some big bats.

i knew i reached for Jones once I saw who was still available at CF later on. Rookie mistake. since I took Haren I agree I should not have gambled on Weaver. I am comfortable with Gordon cause in respect to the league I drafted him rather late and I am high on Huff. I have almost no speed, but to me that is not as important as other positions.
