Luke Scott

In a Yahoo League and while setting up my pre-draft ranking, could not find Luke Scott. I see he is listed in the players - just not in the pre-rank. Any idea - last I heard he was a starting OF?

He's number 857 in the pre-rank.

Haven't heard any change in the plan for him to start, but Hunter Pence has had a great spring and may press him later this summer. Wouldn't be surprised to see Scott platoon a bit throughout the year.

i drafted him with one of last few picks. he's in my starting lineup. i don't know much about him or his potential. anybody here can give me some advice on the guy or should i just keep him on my bench?

I'm having the same debate about Scott on one of my teams. I believe he is to platoon with Jason Lane, but a lot of people think that Scott is the overall better player. Throw in Pence's great spring numbers and it doesn't look good for anyone of them to get a lot of at bats.

I've followed Luke Scott a lot and I can tell you that as of right now he'll more than likely be platooning with JLane in RF for the Astros. During the offseason he gained over 20 pounds of muscle to help him drive the ball further, so 20+ homeruns is not to unreasonsable for him. I imagine that he'll play 100-120 games and have a line somewhere around .290/18/75/75.

Lane had a decent year in 2005 and a pretty dreadful one in 2006, and I don't really know what the Stro's plan is for him - the season hasn't started yet. Sounds like they might not have given up on him.

Scott was killer against righties but not so much against lefties.

He only has 294 MLB at bats, maybe Houston's just not quite ready to bet the bank on him?

Imma tell you something, Hunter Pence and luke scott are the top OF options in Houston besides Berkman when he plays out there.

Luke Scott is an excellent defensive player way better than Lane from what I have seen. He is an unsung player that is under the radar but you BETTER keep him.

This bulked up state should lead to many home runs. He cna hit 300 he has proven that already.

I expect huge things outta him. That rank is very bad and he will move up. Just watch. he is the next markakis or holliday to break out.

I just grabbed Luke Scott off waivers in my 5x5 12-teamer. I'm banking on him escaping from the platoon situation with Lane...
