I remember someone posting an online database that compared minor league players to current and former MLB Players. Could someone repost that link? I found the site to be especially interesting.
I know that somebody knows the web site....it is the one that gives a rating of the prospect...and then it shows you what previous minor leaguers (now major leaguers) scored on the rating, and what player the current minor leaguer is compared to.
Baseball Proscetus's PECOTA does similarity scores.
"I do not think baseball of today is any better than it was 30 years ago... I still think Radbourne is the greatest of the pitchers." John Sullivan 1914-Old athletes never change.
Ron Shandlers 2007 Baseball Forecaster book has a section with a similar function. It projects minor league players' stats to major league equivalents.
