Just tyring to figure out if this is one of those times.
Ben Sheets, when healthy is a top 5 pitcher. Niether Ibanez or Cuddyar is in that class.
I just think you can't indiscriminantly veto "a few trades". I agree with your assessment of the players, but who are you to say that Sheets is going to be healthy this year. What if the guy trading him doesn't want to deal with the risk, and thinks Cuddyer is poised for a monster break-out year and that Ibanez is going to go 35/120? Who are you to argue with that?
Well if you guys respect Yoda's opinion, and I know a lot of you do, I PM'd him and he said it was pretty much fantasy baseball rape.
I'll probably let it go as to not start stuff this early in the year, but a full year of one guy gettnig over on another just becasue he is stupid should not occur. That's whay there are veto's.
Either collusion or people not understanding.

There's a big difference between somebody getting ripped off and two people cheating. You absolutely CANNOT veto a trade just because it's unfair. Personally, I would quit the league immediately if that happened to one of my trades that was fairly negotiated.
If you really believe they are cheating, that's another matter, but you can't veto trades because somebody gets ripped off.
God could disagree with me and it wouldn't change my opinion.

I see your point, however, if a person is regularly getting taken.....by the same person.....throughout the year.....how is that going to be any different than if people were colluding? Honestly.
Based on your thoughts, people could be in collusion and just pretent one is stupid and get away with it.
Albert Puljos for Prince Fielder.....ahhhh that guy's just stupid, let it go through?
There's got to be some regulation......otherwise why would there even be a veto option?
I think that if that is the case you should leave the league at the end of the season and look for a more competitive environment. If it is your league, just politely remove the guy from the league at the end of the season and find a competitive replacement.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

This is exactly the answer...if someone continues to make stupid trades that impact the balance of the league, you need to remove them from the league, or quit.
If yo see that Pujols - Fielder trade, that would be the time to hit that veto button.
When I come across lopsided trades, if they are really bad and I suspect that something might be going on, I'll discreetly (via email) ask the percieved chump manager to explain why he is making the trade. They have almost always pointed out something that makes them legitimately think they are improving their team. You don't have to agree with them to let the trade go through, IMO.
I have had to kick a manager out and take over their team before, it's not a good situation. Avoid that if you can.
this is the dumbest thing Ive ever seen. This is where the veto power of a commish can get the better of them.
Last time I checked Sheets was injured most of last year and Swisher still cant hit for average and Cuddyer and Ibanez both had career years. Personally I see it as debatable who is getting the best of this deal with a lot riding on the health and performance of Sheets this year, but to even consider this trade vetoable is laughable.
