Yeah now Vlad can stay in Canada, woohoo! Or at least a Canadian team, even though they'll be playing somewhere else. Hopefully he's still with them for the "Battle of Canada" LOL.

True, but it would be nice if it was somebody besides always NY and Boston. Yes, i know Lee and Sexson were other big moves.
Forget the season, and just have Boston play NY 162 times.

That they traded for Vaz--with only one year left--and had to give up Johnson is a bonus. Johnson is a very patient hitter--like the Yanks of old. He played great defense and worked pitchers. I view this as the Yanks adding what I expected them to--a great pitcher--but having to give up a big piece of their team (Johnson) to do it.
I don't know. Vasquez wasn't going to be free. I like Nick, but i think Vasquez is much better. Vasquez was what NY really needed. True, if Vasquez bolts after a year, NY probably overpaid.
Fantasy wise, Vasquez has Schilling effect. Should get more wins because of support, but era could take a slight hit.
Nick's value might jump the most. Now he plays everyday. Rivera might be ok in a nl only. Btw, the ptbnl was Randy Choate.

Understood. What I meant was that they could've signed Colon for more years and kept Nick Johnson. Johnson is one of the Yankees best pitchers, I believe, with a great on base percentage. Sure his health is an issue, but so is Vaz's. Plus, he can be erratic at times, as Madison repeatedly warned me when I was trading for him.
Plus, this could be a huge issue for Vaz--going to NY. I was half-joking about being "Weavered", but as a friend of mine emailed me, it's a big difference between pitching in New York and pitching in front of four families and the occasional dog.

What makes you think the Yankees aren't going to go ahead and get Colon? Was there an article that I missed somewhere? It would not surprise me in the least for the Yankees to turn around right now and sign Colon on top of everything else they've done.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Aside from the whole Yanks-Sox thing, I think it would have been good for baseball as a whole to find new ownership and a new home for the Expos prior to this season. This situation just isn't healthy...

I doubt it. I fully expect them to sign Petitte, though.
And, Arlo, your right. They need to resolve this Expos situation. It's bad for baseball.
