He just admitted that he bet on his own team while managing which really compromises the integrity of the game. Here is the interview link:

Does it surprise anyone that Rose is a LIAR? I think once we all accept that he is a rather a big and an obvious one, then we can just move on.

Still does not change what he did on the field. I wouldn't let him enjoy any of the benefits of MLB retirees or be associated with baseball but he should definitely be in HOF.

All of his accomplishments are already in the HOF.
Lots of his memorabilia too ..
Just not him, and thats fine with me.
People can still go to the HOF and see all the Pete Rose they need

If I'm not mistaken...wasn't Pete also a player/manager for a year or so???? I'd be willing to bet (sorry) that he bet while playing/managing and that may be the key to this HOF stonewalling issue.
Think about it.

He should be though.

But at the same time, I don't think he should be allowed back in baseball and also should not enjoy ANY benefits related to baseball.

I agree with jd (and wr above).

Letting Rose into the Hall would certainly allow him to benefit off of baseball. You don't think he'd raise the amount he charges for autographs?

The dishonor Pete Rose did to the game of baseball is immeasurable. No reason baseball should ever honor him.

I have to admit, I'm surprised how many people are in favor of reinstating Rose in any extent. I thought what he did was one of the most disgraceful and self-serving acts possible of a baseball player.

Shows what I know. :-B

I think he deserves to be in. But I wouldn't be "elated." Pete has always had a pretty big ego. It's nice to see some things don't change. :-D

We live in a society that ever-increasingly believes people should not be held accountable for their actions. Not terribly surprising. Sad, but not terribly surprising. :-/
