It's reported that Putz is experiencing tightness in his right elbow. Has anyone heard anymore on this?

Putz had 36 saves -- the fourth-highest total in a Mariners season -- in 2006, his second full season in the major leagues. The hard-throwing, 29-year-old right-hander is one of the best developing stoppers in baseball. Consider him among the top 10 closers on Draft Day when healthy, but if this elbow injury persists, it could be Chris Reitsma that sees early saves.

no structural damage though...shouldn't be a big issue.

FWIW: From the Everett WA Herald:

J.J. Putz has a tender right elbow, catcher Rob Johnson has stiffness in his knees and first baseman Richie Sexson was down Thursday with a stiff neck.

All of their maladies are considered minor and the Mariners aren't concerned.

From the AP:

"The Mariners say Putz's soreness is the normal "dead arm" that many pitchers experiences while reconditioning their arms to almost daily pitching during the initial weeks of spring training."

Saw that too.
A bit worried now. I drafted Putz and was the last guy to grab a RP and thought it was a STEAL. Might be time to check out the wire...
