What do the Halos look like next season?

Postby chinch sacs » Thu Dec 04, 2003 1:12 am

This is my best guess, I know NOTHING about their farm system, so if you think someone may come up this season, let us know ;-D

C - B. Molina
1b- Spiezio (they need to find a REAL 1st baseman)
2b-Kennedy
3b- Glaus (better keep him healthy, they need the bat)
SS- Eckstein (aka Mighty Mouse)
LF- G. Anderson
CF- DaVannon (maybe Figgins)
RF- Salmon (I think hes gonna be the main DH, Figgins might be here)

SP- Washburn
SP- Ra. Ortiz
SP- Escobar
SP- Shields (did well in the rotation, and they dont need help in the bullpen ;-) )
SP- Lackey (didnt do very well in the rotation)

CL- Percival
RP- Donnelly
RP- Weber
RP- F. Rodriguez (K-Rod, but you can call me "Mr. Rod")

Not much change, I would like them to land at least 1 big FA this off-season...

Tejada??? they could sure use the bat...

they are in the Vlad chase for starters, They are also interested in Shannon Stewart, as well as Tejada /Matsui. I read today or yesterday that the probably won't bring back Spiezio and that Wooten has lost alot of weight and is in consideration for the job.

Kennedy may not be back either.

Apparently the Angels are considering putting Palmeiro at first base since he wants to play the field again.

I expect the Angels to make at least a couple of moves. They seem to be in the running for a lot of the free agents out there.

The one thing that boggles my mind is Troy Glaus. He's only 27. Seems like he's been around forever, and he's went through slumps like he's 35. He sometimes moves like that too.

Don't forget this guy has wicked power when he's on. Might be a forgot-about-player w/ huge upside in 2004.
If I were playing third base and my mother were rounding third with the run that was going to beat us, I'd trip her. Oh, I'd pick her up and brush her off and say, 'Sorry, Mom,' but nobody beats me.

Latest ESPN Insider update:

Dec. 4 - Now that the Yankees have acquired Javier Vazquez and the Phillies have acquired Eric Milton, where does that leave Colon? Perhaps in Anaheim. The New York Post indicated the Angels might have offered Colon a four-year contract, something the big right-hander was said to be seeking. He previously rejected a three-year, $36 million offer to remain with the White Sox.
