So I still need to draft, (auction style)
1-C, 1-1B, 2-2B, 1-3B, 0-SS, 3-OF, 3-SP, 1-RP
Where would you draft first? I got my eyes on Utley, he is a free-agent this season, and I need 2-2B, Does my pitching look strong enough, that I don't need another number 1? or should I try and get another top pitcher, Personally I rather spend my $$$$$ on a Bat, then a Pitcher.
I would try to get utley if you can, he is a first round draft pick in regular draft leagues, after that try to see what pitchers are available because you definelty need someone to back oswalt up. If you could post which guys are around it would help greatly. As far as your team so far you have alot of young guys with great potential, hopefully it pans out for you
Out of those guys Arod and Utley are definetly the two you need to target. As far as position scarcity I think utley is worth a lot more since there are some other quality 3b out there. Also the dropoff in OF is pretty significant going from vlad to bay
1B available = Ortiz, Teixeira(so-so), Hafner;-D, Helton(stay away), Morneau(good year, dont expect last year), Sexson(hr, but bad average, know what your getting), Konerko, (no)
2B available = Utley(best bet here 110/30/110), Roberts, Kent, Giles, Hudson, Polanco, Cantu, L.Castillo
3B available = A-Rod, Wright(slow end of last year, can hopefully get over that), Cabrera(always improving, one of best pure hitters in the game), A.Ramirez, Beltre, Rolen, Mora, Chavez, C.Jones(HUGE INJURY RISH),
OF available = Guerrero(knees are a problem to watch for), Bay, Sheffield(sweet swing, but getting old), Giles, Ramirez, Pierre, Matsui(could provide a great value), Dunn, Drew
SP available = Carpenter;-D, Sabathia;-D, Schilling, R.Johnson, Matsuzaka, Schmidt, Cain;-D, Bedard, Vasquez, Escobar,
I would stay away from johnson/schilling/dice-k
I have bad luck when it comes to signatures that the person either gets traded or hurt...in this case I hope he gets traded.
