I was just offerred Jay Bruce for my Brandon Erbe, Dellin Betances and my third round minor league draft pick (currently on the clock). I had planned on using the pick on either Inman or Engel Beltre as a bit of a longshot. Was leaning toward Inman though. I'm really high on Erbe and Betances (especially the latter) but think Bruce will be a top 5 prospect by the end of the year. Any advice would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Brandon Wood is another option for me to get in this deal. But I think I lean slightly toward Bruce, especially since I used a first round pick this year on Brignac. Any thoughts?

Man BWood has dropped bigtime in any case. 3rd rd and not picked?
I also would lean toward Inman of the 2 but it really depends on whose been taken already/whose left.
Sorry, I might not have been clear enough. Wood is already on his minor league roster from a previous draft. I could get Wood instead of Bruce if I wanted. Since this is the third year in our auction league, a lot of minor leaguers are off the board. After calling up Felix and Prince last year, Markakis and Chris B Young this year, and trading Drew during the offseason, my minor leaguers are Stewart, Miller (CLE), Neimann, Dice-K, Brignac, Votto, Erbe, Betances and whoever I would take with my last pick. Finally, minor leaguers, when called up, go into 5 year contracts at 2/4/6/8/10 ($260 cap). Hope this helps as I'm really torn on what to do with this offer. I want to see if he'd do it without my last pick, as the point from his end is that he's got too many hitting prospects and no pitching prospects.
The league is 16 teams. My current roster (which is a little pitching heavy) is:
C - Kenji Johjima - $4 - 4 year prospect contract 1b - Justin Morneau - $27 - 2 years with insurance 2b - Rickie Weeks - $13 - 2 years with insurance 3b - Morgan Ensberg - $8 - 1 year SS - Rafael Furcal - $17 - 3 years with insurance RF - Maglio Ordonez - $7 - 1 year with insurance CF - Chris B. Young - $2 - 5 year prospect contract LF - Jason Bay - $21 - 1 year Util - Prince Fielder - $4 - 4 year prospect contract
P - Johan Santana - $43 - 1 year with insurance P - Ben Sheets - $36 - 1 year with insurance P - Brett Myers - $12 - 2 years with insurance P - Felix Hernandez - $4 - 4 year prospect contract P - Nate Robertson - $7 - 1 year P - Jon Lester - $2 - 5 year prospect contract P - Billy Wagner - $28 - 1 year with insurance P - Trevor Hoffman - $12 - Contract TBD P - Jamie Shields - $1 - Contract TBD
You have to take the deal. In a chat in BA, the guy said that next year he expects Jay Bruce to come in #1 on the top prospect list. I am high on Betances, but Bruce it too hard to pass up on it.
What? your kidding right? He moved to 3rd so he drops a lot? Not likely. His bat will play ANYWHERE! Plus he's showed improvement with his plate discipline this spring. He hasn't dropped off anywhere.
Bruce #1 prospect next year? I highly doubt it. Infact count Cameron Maybin, Justin Upton to finish higher then Bruce.
I am sorry but, I am not the biggest Bruce fan and I think there's better options out there.

I would easily take Bruce for those guys.Bruce will be on the brinks of a top 5 prospect next year.Bruce is just as good of a hitter than Maybin or Upton imo. Most people seem to like Maybin more because of his speed.Bruce has already hit 5 HR playing with AAA this spring including an opposite field shot off Schilling. That would be a steal if you could gt Bruce for those guys.
