I have the need, the need for speed

C - Pudge
1B - Konerko
2B - Utley
3B - MCab
SS - Tejada
OF - A. Jones
OF - Swisher
OF - Rios
U - Fielder
B - Kinsler
B - CB Young
B - Markakis

W, L, CG, SV, K, ERA, WHIP

SP - Webb
SP - Sheets
RP - F. Cordero
RP - Saito
P - Dotel
P - Torres
P - F. Hernandez
B - Bush
B - R. Hill
B - Wainright

I know I'm seriously hurting in the speed department. I'm thinking of trading either A. Jones or Swisher for a speedy OF, or possibly Tejada for some speed at SS.

Any other thoughts on this team?

You have so much Power...Id see if I could trade an aging Tejada plus a Saito for a stud closer and felipe lopez/rafael furcal or something like that. I love your pitching and I really love your lineup, especially your outfield as Rios should be a stud this year.

Also, if you do no want to give us tejada, you could also just pick up dave roberts or ryan freel for cheap and play them at utility.

i'd aim at making a trade that involves tejada for someone like hanley/rollins/furcal


another solution would be looking to acquire someone like corey patterson

or if you don't want to give up much maybe you can podsenik on the cheap. you have a enough solid hitting to afford to have a 1 dimensional player like him, or taveras on your team.

maybe you can trade tejada for a top closer/verygoodstarter + a cheap SB outfielder. or maybe you can get a guy like furcal and a cheap SB of...which would give you a very solid SB foundation
that would allow you to trade maybe rios for another starter or dominant closer.

I think in a ten team league of that size you could find cheap base stealers in the waiver wire. Look for Willy Taverez, Chris Duffy, and B.J. Upton. I dont think all of them should be taken. If they are and you are really desperate I would take a chance on Shin-Soo Choo the outfielder in Cleveland. He was a very good base stealer in the minors and if he gets playing time it should translate in the majors.
