In a normal 5x5 league, that starting pitching staff doesn't look hot but with the extra cats, it does. The youth at pitching is somewhat scary, but they all have good potential. You're golden with saves since you can only start 2 RP anyway, and you have two very good ones.
I'm fine with Chavez at 3B. He will give you servicable numbers.
I also like your SP group, especially once Clemens starts playing.
I honestly think gordon is a better bet than ensberg and chavez, but I think you can afford to take a wait-and-see approach on that. If you can get a big bat, go for it. But don't gut the team to do it, and don't trade a SP for one with getting pitching help in return.
I would wait and see. I think your pitching is fine, and you'd need to sacrifice too much to get one of those "aces" (if you're talking about the Halladay/Oswalt/Peavy variety) at this point. If Gordon comes up and does well, that would free up a spot to make a deal, though I might just drop Ensberg outright at that point.
Dealing Uggla is the only move that might help you right now, but that's assuming that other teams in your league value him highly (which they may not). If you could swing some package deal to plug in a Brandon Phillips type in there and boost another position, I would try to do that.
Your team is full of bright potential, but its scary because it relies a lot on it developing. At least most of those guys have proven that they can live up to it though. McCann, Sizemore, Fielder, and Uggla all proved themselves last year. Your pitching is a bit scarier. Rich Hill is med risk high reward. Kei Igawa is a higher risk. I like Cole and Felix, especially with Kazmir there to balance it out. And Clemens on the bench provides stability, if he plays. If you could add another vet to the back end of your rotation you'd be set. Your team looks like its about to take over. Good luck!
As for your pitching, it would be nice to add another top arm, but I really like your guys to have breakout seasons.
Felix - breakout big time
Hammels - with the Philly's attack
Kazmir - up and coming Rays team
Hill - at seasons end, he will be #2 in Wrigleyville
Clemens - though not young, should give you the veteran presence, when he signs with the Yanks, (down with the Yankees)
the guys that im not sold on are chavez, burrell and ensburg.
chavez has been declining for years now and depending on his trade value i would look to move him. burrell is a BA disaster waiting to happen, and ensburg needs to show me that hes the guy from two years ago versus the guy from last year before i can believe in him again.
your pitching is very solid if igawa and nolasco pan out then you will have 7 potential studs on your team, batting is getting there but i agree gordon should overtake chavez/ensburg at some point so moving one for another power bat in the OF would be what i would do. reyes is gold for your stat format tho!
