My draft strategy

That's great that you've determined that Pierre is worth more than Wright. The question is are the other league owners smart enough to figure that out? If not, then you can probably take the speed guys a round before they should go. Pierre might finish in the top 10 in scoring in your league, but you won't be getting any value by drafting him there. Wouldn't a guy like Beltran be a better pick than Pierre?

we changed the values.....home runs are now worth 3 points....thus making it a total of 6 points for a solo shot....that's evens things out much more

Scoring
3B - Triples 7 points
.

.
HR - Home Runs 2 points

Seriously? :-? Triples are worth 3.5 times more than homeruns? That's insane.

We just changed the homers to 3 points.

They're not worth 3.5 times more. The solo home run gives you 6 points....1 for the hit, 3 for the homer, 1 for the rbi, 1 for the run scored.

I don't see how the league is as lopsided as people are saying.

also to add...I was rethinking things

I'll be going with Beltran at the #1 pick. I'm not sure about my #2 but if Utley is there I'll take him (doubtful) so I might go with Wright (if he's there), Jimmy Rollins, or Ichiro

I'm going to try and land Julio Lugo at 2nd base. I don't think he'll be drafted high at all in my league....I expect I should be able to get him in the 8th round or so.

I'm probably reserving my 3rd pick for a first basemen (hopefully derrek lee).

Don't count on individuals

Take the best available player at the position you are looking for it will helpl in the long run. If you go for one player and don't get him you will be flustered and miss a diamond in the rough staring you right in the face.
