I guess I have to say it again. The Rangers have zero (read zero) interest in Manny. They do not want him. It's that simple.
Mad.......I understand that you have the hometown information but I am looking at the bigger picture. I will say it again, too. Hicks is hurting for cash right now and is looking at total values of contracts rather than yearly. The NHL lockout is lurking for next year and that is going to cost him a lot of money. IMHO, they don't really want either of them but Manny is cheaper and he has a little history with Hart.
What it boils down to is that I think that the Sox might give Texas enough to make it happen. Not that Texas wants either player but the lesser of 2 evils ($$) might make it happen. Boston knows that the time is now and that Nomar would like to go out West.
True, and the hometown information has discussed this for awhile now. I just don't see it happening. The Rangers have been adamant about it not happening, and they are one of the few teams that, for the most part, let their fans know what is going on.

Nope, I like my avatar.
Besides, I'd prefer to save you the embarrassment of losing. Hehe.

Sorry to hear that, you are only setting yourself up to be disappointed on this one.

That's where a lot of the confusion is with this deal. The economics don't make sense for the Rangers. I've explained this numerous times. It's the same thing that management is saying. Too big, and too long of a contract. I wasn't going to explain it again, but I will.
Manny's deal is only $5 million less than Arod's. That's no money. Especially to have Arod over Manny. Also, Manny's deal is guaranteed for another 5 years. Arod's is only guaranteed for another 4 years. He could elect to stay, or he is free to leave. If the Rangers are not competitive by that time, I expect him to leave. He's a multimillionaire, young, and wants to win a championship. No way he stays with a team that he feels can't win a championship just for the money. That gets the Rangers out from under the big contract in 4 years instead of 5.
Something that isn't mentioned very often is that the Rangers have a good group of young kids. Manny is not a leader, and the Rangers have said that Manny's attitude could be a distraction that they don't need.
Sorry, but there's no way I see a deal happening that involves Manny going to the Rangers.
