Cliff Lee (abdomen) had to be scratched from his scheduled throwing session Sunday, meaning he'll start the season on the disabled list.
Lee will probably miss his first two or three scheduled starts. "The symptoms persist," trainer Lonnie Soloff said. "Cliff won't throw for seven to 10 days. Then we'll initiate a return-to-throw program. We're approaching it as a four-to-six week rehab." Fausto Carmona is expected to take Lee's rotation spot to begin the year, though the Indians haven't ruled out going with top prospect Adam Miller.
