As a diehard Orioles fan, I would say Loewan. I've been watching this guy in the miners for a couple years now, and he's filthy.
Cabrera can throw the ball harder, but Bedard taught Loewan his breaking ball this offseason which Loewan alreayd throws almost as well as Bedard.
The major difference, however, is that Loewan throws strikes. Cabrera can be unhittable one day, and then walk 8 in an inning the next.
I took a flyer on him in the 18th round of my 14 team league

I didn't know Santa Barbara, a city just 30 miles north of Los Angeles, was considered Northern California. Looks like someone doesn't know their geography.

Actually SB is 30 miles north of Ventura & 90 miles north of LA., and $1 is still too much to pay for Loewen for 2007.
