Trading Weaver for Brown is clearly a salary dump for the Yankees. It brings the bullpen's payroll under the $30 million dollar mark. :-D

Genius!!! LOL!
If I were playing third base and my mother were rounding third with the run that was going to beat us, I'd trip her. Oh, I'd pick her up and brush her off and say, 'Sorry, Mom,' but nobody beats me.

They created hope that the market will thaw this year, though indications are those deals are more likely to be the exceptions. As a result, there seems little chance the Rockies will retain arbitration eligibles Jay Payton and Justin Speier

Any guesses on where Payton might end up ??? And the Rockies will need a closer. Beck? Rumor is the Padres offer is better, even for him to set up Trevor. Curious to see how bad Beck wants those few extra saves ... :-?

As for Payton .... how does it go .... "Live by the Rockies, die by the Rockies".. ... ?

*I have Reyes and Atkins on a career keeper, so you can imagine how happy I am that Payton is out. Now if Larry Walkers body would finally, just fall apart for good, I could have both. ;-D Is that selfish?
