Newsday reports that the Dodgers and Yankees are talking about a Kevin Brown-for-Jeff Weaver swap. A $14.25 million savings over two years wouldn't be enough to make this a fair one-for-one deal for the Dodgers. If the Yankees throw in Nick Johnson, however, maybe something could happen. Sources told Newsday that Brown would have no problem waiving his no-trade clause to join the Yankees. Source: Newsday

As a Sox fan I'm all for this deal. Yanks lose a great young hitter in Johnson and eat $15 mil for a 39-year old with a laundry list of injury problems, all but guaranteeing no Vazquez in pinstripes.
