SAMMY SOSA

Postby liv4socr20 » Sat Mar 10, 2007 3:22 am

The guy is having a more than average spring....in a more than average lineup.....in a more than average hitters ballpark......and used to be a more than average power threat.....I know hes been out of the game and hurt and the list of problems goes on I would just like to know his absolute upside.....For me I can almost see him hitting for .275 30 90 as most absolute upside I could also be crazy....please I would like to hear everyones theories on Slammin Sammy.

He is far from a lock to be an everyday player, and quite frankly, I don't think he will be.

If he manages to make the ML roster, and become an everyday player immediately or shortly thereafter, his ceilng for me would be something to the effect of:

.260 20-25 70

Don't expect the world. Don't even draft....

I think he'll be a fine DH for the rangers but I don't see him getting 500 AB's

I'm thinking 295 AB's 20 hr's 56 RBI's .250 Average
I'm too lazy to make a sig at the moment

I'm sure because of name recognition he'll get drafted in most 12+ team leagues.

With that lineup & ballpark it might be worth a shot late.

Actually, as goofy as it may sound, I think the Rangers are counting on him.

Don't be surprised when that POS is in the everyday scratch and putting up some numbers.

I would look to deal him once he hits 500, though.

3 completed drafts for me so far and he hasn't been picked up in any of them.

Sure, he could put together a magical season and be serviceable, but I doubt it happens. The Rangers have enough bats, so he's not really anything all that special. Just someone who could play once in awhile to give someone a day off, or a day off if they are struggling, and still possibly put one out of the park. Fantasy impact for Sosa is unlikely unless something very strage happens and he winds up playing at least 5 games a week.

6 drafts so far, and he's been picked up once, for $1. Waiver wire material for me, but I will be watching closely with my finger on the trigger.
