I'll probably take a beating from you guys for lack of saves, but I rarely draft elite closers unless they fall in my lap. (I had the 6th pick)
C - Michael Barrett
1B - Todd Helton
2B - Robinson Cano
3B - Alex Rodriguez
SS - Jimmy Rollins
OF - Grady Sizemore
OF - Juan Pierre
OF - Nick Markakis
Util - Brad Hawpe
BN - Edgar Renteria, Aubrey Huff, Morgan Ensberg
SP - Roy Hallayday
SP - Ben Sheets
RP - Chris Ray
RP - Takashi Saito
P - Cole Hamels
P - A.J. Burnett
P - Scot Shields
P - Javier Vasquez
P - Justin Duchscherer
I keep seeing Markakis show up and I just always think there is a better option in a 12x19 draft. I might look for a more proven guy than him.
I'm a little leery or Vazquez--Good stuff that never seems to translate into as good as #'s as it should and at 30-31, he's not likely to improve much. Plus not getting a real good feeling here in CHI about the Sox, been a pretty negative last couple of weeks for them as Ozzie says something stupider everyday and McCarthy who was the future of the franchise 9 months ago, gets trashed by someone at Comiskular every day. I just don't see them having a great start. Might look for a younger guy w similar #'s who has an upside.
I think you have a pretty solid team here. I'm not a big fan of Huff or Ensberg (I'm not even sure hat he 's guaranteed a starting spot). With that said I would try upgrading your bench but otherwise you have some great balance.
You've got a solid team going. I really like Chris Ray unlike most guys here, so I don't think you're going to be lacking that much in saves. Other than Helton, who I feel is going to have similar numbers to last year, I really like your offense. Your starting pitching is solid, but I would try to pick someone up instead of Vazquez, maybe one of Floridas young SPs. They always seem to be on the WW in my leagues.
I don't believe you will be killed in saves, just very unlike you will dominate. Just hope that Saito is going to turn into a great saves man, and O's win enough that Rays looks good too.
I like the balance you have on your team. As someone else mentioned, i'd look into possibly upgrading your bench, but bench players aren't that big a deal. If healthy, your SP's should be fine, but i might look at adding another closer. There might be one or two left on FA.
i think you could really use some power. You really only have one 40 hr threat and a guy at 1B who doesn't have the upside to hit twenty (that is a big deal, since most eeryone else will have a 30+ hr guy at least there). You also have a starter who may hit one or two (pierre). Since you already have rollins, I would try to trade pierre to a guy desperate for steals and try to get a decent power bat in return (think thome/glaus).

Yep..I like your staff a lot but one thing that jumped out at me was maybe not enough power..If Helton stays healthy he will help but I think you need a masher ..
