My Arizona prospect question is, will Scott Hairston be a legitimate candidate to beat out Kata for the starting 2b job next season?
D-backs are currently familiarizing Tracy with the outfield since Hillenbrand appears to be the D-backs 3B and not just a temporary solution.
As for Hairston, my guess is unless he has a phenomenal spring he'll be in AAA. Injuries plagued him last season, and he ended up with a supbar season.
I'm with most others in wondering about RF. Bautista is still around, but I don't know how content they are with him. If he's fully recovered from his shoulder injury (not only physically, but mentally) and returns to his 2001 form he'd be a lock-in. Personally, I floated the idea to a friend about signing someone like Cruz, Jr. The Giants declined his $4 mil option, so he could likely be signed for less. Mediocre avg, but high OBP, speed, and defense. And who knows, maybe he'd surprise with his 2001 numbers.
Unfortunately Dessens isn't gonna be dumped on anyone else lap. I think Batista will be back. If he is, Johnson, Webb and Batista form the top three with Patterson, Fossum and Dessens battling for the last two spots (and I hope Dessens is the odd man out).
