Last I heard, Burnett was supposed to be ready, but I guess he's behind schedule:
A.J. Burnett - S - Florida Marlins Nov 30
A.J. Burnett, coming back from Tommy John surgery, will begin throwing off flat ground next month and off a mound in January. Burnett, who will be tendered a contract by the Marlins next month, is expected to miss at least the first month and probably the first two months of next season. Source: Palm Beach Post
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
One lesson I've learned the hard way: Under no conditions should you activate a player for his first start back from an injury like this.
Especially if he's a Cardinal (or playing on any team that La Russa may be coaching).
"The game has a cleanness. If you do a good job, the numbers say so. You don't have to ask anyone or play politics. You don't have to wait for the reviews." - Sandy Koufax
Not really that unexpected....I wouldn't be suprised to see him miss alittle longer than that.....
Useless Trivia of the day
England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.
In a non keeper, i think AJ is worthless this year. In a keeper, maybe if you can stash him. One only has to look at Woods results when he was rushed back (near 5 era). Even if AJ appears in June, thats way too early (14 months) from surgery.
