By critiquing my team. Here are the league settings and my roster.

1B: A. Pujols
MI: R. Cano
MI: J. Rollins
3B: J. Crede (Will he put up big numbers again?)
OF: N. Markakis (See Hawpe comment)
OF: B. Hawpe (Don't know a ton about him...outlook for '07?)
OF: G. Sizemore
UT: L. Overbay
BN: S. Podsednik

SP: B. Webb
SP: A. Harang

Here's some key FA. Should I grab one, and if so, who do I drop?

Offensive FA: H. Blalock, M. Mora (either of these a better option than Crede?), J. Willingham, M. Cuddyer (was last year a fluke?), B. Bonds, A. Gonzalez (will he be better than Overbay at Util?), E. Encarnacion (big year rumored), D. DeJesus, M. Lowell

Pitching FA: E. Gagne (does he still have it?), A. Benitez, J. Valverde, J. Isringhausen (too old / too hurt?), A. Otsuka, M. Gonzalez (last year a fluke?), C. Meredith, D. Davis, S. Torres, A. Heilman, G. Meche

Gagne is a free agent?

Get him right now. That's ridiculous. He's far from a sure thing but his potential is immense and he's a CLOSER. Almost every closer should be owned. You only have one closer.

Get Gagne and probably Valverde. Possibly even Izzy. I don't understand how there are three pretty well-known closers on the FA list (not to mention guys like Benitez and Torres, who were all drafted in my 10 teamer).

I agree, grab Gagne now if he's available! IMO, his potential definitely outwieghs any risk. Maybe you could trade him early in the season after he starts putting up descent #'s, that way you won't have to worry about a mid-to-late season breakdown with his potential for injury...

Furthermore, I think you should definitely take Cuddyer as well. If it were my team, I'd let Podsenik or Hawpe go for Cuddyer (I may be the minority on that). I'm not saying he'll definitely post the #'s he did last year, but he's worth picking up for sure! I can't believe he's available -- actually, I'm having trouble believing that alot of those guys are available. How many teams in your league???

There are 10 teams in the league, but there are a lot of guys playing that draft and play based only on what they see on ESPN (and then they wonder why they lose).

Keep the opinions coming, guys.

10 teams? And 3 current closers are out there? Gagne/Valverde/Izzy all will have the role to start out with, so load up on them if you can. I'd have Willingham and Cuddyer on my team before Hawpe...talk about talent on the FA wire.

i'd take mora and blalock over Crede, buuut thats my bias.. its insane you have those pitchers still available in a 10person league.
