Curt Schilling - S - Boston Red Sox Nov 29
Curt Schilling agreed to give up his no-trade protection as part of his deal in the Red Sox.
In return, the half of his $12 million salary that was supposed to be deferred money will be paid to Schilling in 2004. The Red Sox have never given a player a no-trade clause and it's especially important that they don't do so now, as Manny Ramirez has language in his contract that would grant him the privilege if the club extended the provision to another player. Very interesting provision in the contract.
