he had to go to the hospital to get diagnosed and he will have to get treatment...and this will cause him to miss how many days for recovery while his team travels?
so yes.

Teams often invent injuries for Rule-Five picks. See Adam Stern.

I hope this continues in the bigs. But a hot start in MLB and now a hot start in the minors could equal forth coming slump in the minors. Good to hear though. Teams really do make up injuries like this? I guess thats a good idea, but it all sounded serious, i guess thats the point. There is always a way. I bet the reds want him back soon since Ryan Freel is out for awhile. I bet once he is back he will be playing full time. I'm sure they will be calling him back up as soon as time allows.

Must be because pitchers are afraid to face Mark Bellhorn, who is batting cleanup.
Ok, I can't back that up.

Go for it.
What I'm curious about is, the last few games before the gastroenteritis hit, he was being rested against lefties most of the time even after he had been officially named a so-called full-time starter by the Reds. I didn't quite get that. Then again, I don't get about 90% of stuff the Reds do, they seem to be an aimless organization all-around.
I just hope they don't say he's the FT starter again only to lose at-bats against lefties again.
