Hamilton's emergence has probably ensured Crosby's release. That was a dumb signing, a minor league contract would have sufficed. Conine's on the team to be the 5th outfielder and platoon a bit at first base, so he's on. I'm thinking Deno, Dunn, or Freel get dealt early, maybe before opening day.

My vote goes to trading all three, leaving us Griffey, Hamilton, Hopper, with Jay Bruce coming up in '08.

I think Deno still has options left. If he does, don't be surprised to see him start the year in the minors.

The Red's like Conine's leadership , I think they will platoon him with Haddy at 1B this year, or until my boy VOTTO gets the nod.

I would not trade Dunn right now. Why sell at the lowest value in his young career?

I agree that if Hamilton makes the squad, crosby should be canned.
The key is that Hamilton has to stay with the big league squad the entire year. I don't think there is a HUGE difference between his salary and Crosby's.

Word on the street has Crosby staying and Deno/Hopper, who have both been next to pathetic this spring, to AAA (although I think Chuck Norris Hopper is out of options).

I don't think you'll see Votto outside of Lexington this year. Maybe the same for Bailey now.

But realistically who many atbats will Freel Actually lose to Hamilton? Will Hamilton actually see any playing time or will he rid the bench for a year before the Reds send him down to get more more experience?
