8-o 8-o 8-o WOW. Santana and Carpenter. Going to be a tough pitching rotation to beat, but I'm curious now to see what kind of offense buser can throw together.

while everyone always talks down the whole drafting pitchers early thing, it mainly because of the volatility, not b/c hitters are inherently better to have. i can't think of 2 other pitchers who will be consistenyl awesome given that Carp's injuries seem to be well behind him. its still a counterintuitive move to do it, but at the same time Buser can be drafting 8-12 straight hitters from here out. not a bad position to be in.

i was mulling over a gaggle of offensive players for a few minutes, and then noticed that carpenter was still there. it definitely felt counterintuitive for a minute, but then i really couldn't convince myself to not take him

I wonder how many of us had him queued for our next pick?

I'm happy with Carlos anchoring my staff with a 4th round pick.

Snakes Gould wrote:well i didnt mean for it to happen (nor did i think the draft would come all the way back to me) but i ended up with halladay, webb, and sheets, which i do think could compete with buser's and i've got big papi and berkman to boot. (im getting a bat coming up with this pick, as if that wasnt obvious) so i think i might be better off this way.

Only thing better than that would be Halladay, Webb, Papi, Berkman, and Rivera

if samo wants his team back, i will have to apologize for Pierre- i really didn't want to go that high with him but i allowed last's years poor showing in SB sway my decision - there were quite a few other players that i actually had ranked higher on my sheet and should not have jumped over them - oh well.
