Need help breaking into a church?

Maybe the guy was homeless or starving or something and wanted to get arrested.

Should we as a society house people in our prisons because they are homeless and starving, though? Aren't there better ways for him to receive assistance?

Probably not but it's up to him if he wants to do something to get thrown in jail. Not a bad idea actually.

The fact remains that there's nothing you can do to stop something like that. Are you going to say they can't go to jail, and just leave a dangerous person who has/will commit crimes on the street because they are homeless?

No, but at the same time we can say he's wrong for doing that, can't we? Surely you're not saying it's OK for him to commit a crime so he has a place to spend the night?

Of course you can say he's wrong, but your initial post that I was responding to was asking if society should allow people like this to be housed in prisons and my point was that it's not up to us to allow or not allow.

This guys was probably just a nut who mixed too many different kinds of pills. I mean, he told the police he wanted to be married in the church. Besides he wasn't homeless he had an apartment full of drugs.
