The Angels were disappointed to learn that Francisco Rodriguez is playing winter ball in Venezuela, according to the L.A. Times. K-Rod has had periodic minor arm trouble in his short career, and the club would have preferred that he simply take the winter off.

I saw that. I don't think it's going to be a big deal, but I bet the Angels sit him down and talk to him about it.

Francisco Rodriguez - R - Anaheim Angels Nov 27

The Angels didn't know that Francisco Rodriguez was pitching in winter ball until Monday, and they weren't happy to learn about it from Kelvim Escobar.
They would have known four weeks ago if they had been reading RotoWorld. The Angels had suggested Rodriguez skip winter ball, since he pitched 86 innings during his first full major league season and had experienced occasional arm trouble during his minor league career. GM Bill Stoneman said he would investigate but acknowledged the Angels cannot prevent Rodriguez from playing. Source: Los Angeles Times

Kelvim just got there and already he's ratting on his new teammates? I bet he's the one who told on Pascual Coco for stealing form the Jays' locker room least season. But still, you would think the Angels would have known about this earlier...

Good job K-Rod! It's nice to see a player who loves to play. Unlike, say, David Wells spending the off-season expanding his waistline or Manny--I bet Manny's not playing any winter ball. At least K-Rod is spending his off-season washing his car...
