Now wasps on the other hand... Talk about a useless insect.
i pwn3d some wasps (possibly hornets) last year that had a nest built in our bathroom exhaust vent. i bought wasp spray to spray at them and just assumed it was a typical aresol spray and i'd spray and run. imagine my delight when i thick foam came out enveloping the buggers. they had no chance and i watched as they and their nest dripped down onto my deck. i almost felt disapointed at that point, it was like a dropped a nuke on them
Not a fan of wasps here either, but the only time they stung me was when I accidentally stuck my hand in their nest. Was in a bush and my basketball had landed on top of it. So I reached down to get the ball and my left hand ended up in their nest and they let me know it in a not very nice way.
Still not a big fan of bees, but with their benefits, I see why it's better to have them around.
Curious as to what's wiping them out though. Surely they are not blaming all of it on Sevin, are they? Seems like there would be something else. Unless the use of Sevin is way more widespread than it seems.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
I think the story about Sevin was just supposed to be an allegory about one of the potentially many ways that bees could be getting wiped out. The key parts of that story were a) the cause was a pesticide, and b) because bees store the stuff, the effects of the pesticide were lingering

Oh I get what they are saying, but it sounds like they've already been looking into it for awhile now, yet all they mentioned was Sevin.

Just gives you an idea about how stumped they are. It's really an odd story.
Bees are fine, but I hate wasps. Last year in a one week period I got stung upward of seven times. A couple times mowing the lawn, once playing baseball, a few times in the pool...I hate wasps and yellowjackets and hornets. They serve no purpose in the natural cycle-they don't really eat anything, and nothing major eats them. If you just take them away nothing bad will happen.
