My trade got vetoed!

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this. Would you veto this trade: Paul Konerko and Scott Kazmir (me) for Alfonso Soriano and Josh Johnson. I'm pretty pissed right now and I've just emailed my entire league demanding an explanation (not that I expect any from these guys).

Roto 5X5 with 12 teams. He badly needed a 1b and sp while I wanted some steals.

no i would not have vetoed, but i have a very strong belief that the veto should ONLY be used to stop cheating. this doesn't look like a good trade for both teams, but it isn't outright cheating.

Thanks for your reply. Update: seemingly my league thinks Konerko and Kazmir are "nothing".

they were probably jealous that you were able to pull off a trade like that and they're like "nuh-uh i don't think so" and now they're gonna offer the guy other offers for soriano that are slightly less unfair.

that's why i hate league votes on trades. in my league we don't do league vote or commish vote. we do a "panel vote" where myself (the commish) and two other well-respected, fair, experienced managers appointed by me vote on all trades (unless they involve one of us, then a substitute is appointed) - 2 votes for and the trade passes, 2 votes against and it's vetoed. works the best out of any trade review system i've ever seen.

That trade seems reasonable to me as well. In our league the commissioner posts all agreed upon trades to our message board and everyone has 2 days to comment on the trade. Then the commissioner decides. So far he has vetoed a trade that was later admittedly collusionary (two brothers) and a trade where a new owner didn't understand the keeper policy.

Besides, it's a lot of fun commenting on other people's trades and watching them squirm and defend them.

oh yeah, I should've also mentioned that we have a 3 day trade review period to allow all other managers to post any objections and the trade cannot be acted on by the commish until the 3rd day.
