You and I definitely need to sit down and have a few cold ones. I think we would have some fantastic discussions. If you're ever going to happen to be in Texas, please let me know.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

haha...will do. Although, when I'm in Texas I'm usually only doing one thing: trying to get the hell out...haha.
Who's read the Charles Bukowski story about when he stops off in Texas on his way to (or maybe it's from) New Orleans? I had something similar, though not exactly the same happen to me in Texas.
Who does this woman think she is? It makes me sick that she intentionally tries to offend people to make a statement against a PC society.
I posted about this over on the lightside too. She also apologized to gay people because she had to compare them to John Edwards. Because I'm not an Edwards fan I thought that was funny.
But still, they shouldn't even let this woman talk anymore. She's out of line completely.

on a sortof related note, i don't really see a problem with intentionally miffing PC-types if you go about it the right way. For example, the words 'african-american' will never know what its like to be spoken by me, nor will any '_______-american' combo. I don't care if it puts people on edge; in fact i enjoy watching people squirm when presented with something outside of their self-righteous PC bubble. I think its both hilarious and pathetic to see people tiptoe with the '_____-american' stuff when its clear they are not used to saying it. However, going out of your way to be derogatory is something I can't give my blessing to.

Have to admit I don't know the story.
When you visit though, and you know you want to, the first beer is on me.

Nail on the head there Rugby.
You're exactly right. It's obvious when someone is naturally saying "African American" because that's what they have always said, or when someone is doing it because maybe there is a black person in the room and they don't want to offend them. It's one thing using "black" instead of "African American" or "Indian" instead of "Native American," but in this instance to use an anti-gay slur is just uncalled for. That is a derogatory comment, and its more than just making a stand against PC.
