outlook on prince fielder?

Postby newyork » Sat Mar 03, 2007 9:42 pm

what do you expect from prince fielder? he had a solid rookie year, but will he continue playing well, or will he also suffer from the sophomore slumo? is he a solid starting 1b? I have tex, but i'm looking into trading him.

I think Prince could improve on last seasons numbers. The Brewers offense should be much improved this season. They'll should have Rickie Weeks and JJ Hardy returning from injury. Corey Hart should be playing almost everyday. And if Ryan Braun keeps hitting this spring, it'll be hard for the Brewers not to give him the everyday 3B job.

I just took him really early in a draft(6th round) absent mindedly so now I am gonna hope for at least 35 homers.

30-100 is a solid projection, with 6-10 SBs tossed in for good measure.

He slumped badly in the last 2 months of the year last season, so if he can improve his conditioning, 35/110 is easily within reach.

I always have one or two power hitters that I like every year. Last year I felt giambi and thome were due for big years and that's what happened. This year I love Fielder and he's due for a great year. Can't believe mlb fantasy preview ranked him so low.

im high on the prince - can he match daddys '90 monster 51hr / 132 rbi season?

maybe in a few years ;)

huge upside on Prince, the guy can mash. just dont over reach for him and take em too early.
Vaughn: What's that sh*t on your chest?

Harris: Crisco, Bardol, Vagisil. Any one of them will give you another two to three inches drop on your curve ball.
