Remember those two boys that were recently found in Missouri after being kidnapped? Do you recall that one of them had been missing for over four years? Well, my wife saw this on Snopes within two hours of the first announcement that they had been saved.

Status: Was true, but has since been recovered.
With all the Wiki love, thought I'd give these guys an honorable mention, too.

Since I started the Wikipeda post, I need to reply to this one and say I agree 100%. Snopes is on the top of my list of best sites on the internet.
My daughter is in 6th grade, which is middle school here. I was shoulder surfing her as she read some email of some stupid urban legend, and before I could explain what to do next, she had opened a browser to snopes to check it out and find out it was false. They had taught her about it during classes about things to be aware of on the internet. I was very impressed that the school covered it.
