MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins added some utilty infield depth Monday by claiming veteran Augie Ojeda off waivers from the Cubs.
The 28-year-old Ojeda -- who can can play third base, shortstop and second base -- was added to Minnesota's 40-man roster. To make room, right-handed pitcher Jonathan Pridie was designated for assignment.
Ojeda has played in parts of four Major League seasons, all with the Cubs. A lifetime .196 hitter, he batted .120 in 12 games with Chicago in 2003 after spending most of the season in the minors.
Pridie was an 11th-round pick by Minnesota in the 1998 draft. He was 6-9 with a 5.19 ERA in 27 games at Double-A New Britain.
Not a great hitter....but one of the scrappiest infielders you will ever see.....and a Cubbie favorite.....
Hate the Cubbies lost him.....
