Definitely a great photo. It's just weird to see it presented like this since I saw it live (on TV not in person) and it looks a lot better in this still.

So you saw it being staged? You know this wasn't an "as it happened" picture?
If so, that's kind of dumb to choose that pic as the "sports picture of the year."
It was as it happened. The photographer didn't do anything wrong. I meant staged in the manner that the Japanese like to mix theater with sport. This was a manufactured moment. It was set up to happen this way and they actually ushered the daughters in the ring.
