C M Barret
1B Prince Fielder
2B Ryan Freel
3B AROD
SS O Cabrera
OF Juan Pierre
OF Gary Sheffield
OF JD Drew
Utl Pat Burrell
BN Frank Thomas

SP C Carpenter
SP C Zambrano
RP C Ray
RP T Saito
P C Schilling
P R Harden
P B Webb
BN M Buehrle
BN J Piniero
BN MacDougal
BN F Liriano

Found out later that Liriano was out for the year. I think my OF is shabby and I missed out on Bonds in Rnd 19 when I grabbed MacDougal instead :( I know, I know, but 270 & 25hrs didnt look too shabby. Thing is Saves were going fast and I started grasping at straws.

I think my OF is shabby & closers are questionable.

Not done on purpose, but my 5 top SPs are #1 starters in their teams

Thoughts? Comments?

I think you definitely need another closer. Also maybe one more solid OF, is Chris B Young available?

Broxton could end up being the dodgers closer by mid season (thats just my opinion, not real fact behind it) and you could also see if Torres is available, he should take over closing for the Pirates now that Gonzales is with the Braves.

Yeah I would deffinatly take one of those pitchers and try and snag yourself another OF.

your pitching is deffinatly SICK though!

IMO I would try and trade Brandon Webb or Carlos Zambrano for a OF

The reason I let closers slip in favor of other players is because new closers tend to pop up during the season. It would be foolish to pass up a bonified multi-stat player for a mediocre closer. Also, the position is a bit unstable. There are few sure-fire closers left.

I gotta hope 1 of my 2 flyers makes it or someone pops up

There are a few teams out there that can yield a clsoer.
BoSox- Papelbon's starting so Piniero may close & converted closers tend to be good (gagne, demp, smoltz, Izzy).

I gotta deal with this OF problem though.

If you added Young I think your OF situation is good. Somebody may pop up there during the year as well.

Pierre, Sheff and Drew/Young isn't bad at all though....considering the rest of your team is good too.

If I were you I would follow the advice of the others and maybe move an SP for a closer/outfielder. You can probably package a deal like:

One of your SP's plus Burrell/Drew/or one of your closers
in exchange for:
A Top level OF plus a better closer.
