First draft of the season.. mixed results. Thoughts?

Postby tinfoilxtouch » Thu Mar 01, 2007 3:29 pm

So my draft started out strong, but I think my oversight in drafting a second quality OF or Util might hurt me in the end. I did this one without cheat sheets, just to get a feel for things. I'll be better prepared next time.

Just leave a link to yours.

12-team, 5x5 H2H

C- Laird
1b- Delgado
2b- Barfield
3b- MCab
SS- Young
OF- Beltran
OF- Francoeur
OF- Markakis
Util- Taveras

SP- Webb, Peavy, Kazmir, Haren, Harden, Capuano, Olsen, Bonser, Hudson

RP- Street, Ray, Dotel

You have a pretty solid team, it's well rounded out. I'm trying to find something wrong with it but there really isn't. The only thing that could hurt you is RBI but I don't see that being a problem. ;-D

Your team looks pretty good with both bats and pitching. Two areas I would look to improve on are:

SB- You have no stud runner. Taveras is mediocre, Barfeild will get about 15, and Beltran 20+. From what I add up it is only going to be about 75-80 SB.

W- Your pitchers all play for mediocre teams so I might worry about wins later in the season if they do not produce the wins.

Overall I like your team I would just be worried about injury in your pitching staff, Kazmir, Haren, and Harden are who I am talking about. Otherwise not a bad team overall. Maybe trade a pitcher for another bat, an OF with speed or something like that.

Your pitching is borderline illegal

i think you have a rock solid team. Webb Peavy and Kazmir is great. i am not loving your rp, but thats not a problem as there is always a breakout rp. just make sure you get him! Your team also has a lot of upside.

man, nice pitching! just wondering, but where did you draft kazmir in your league? id look into getting a speedy OF since sb and of is your weakness. Look at chris duffy in your FA's is he still there?

9/10!
