I read this one a while ago and kept forgetting to post it on here: Heart of a Champion, by Carl Deuker, is a great book. He writes good sports novels and this one is about these two kids who are best friends and grow up, with their lives revolving around baseball, but with a lot of drama. A light, easy read. One of my favorite books.

I read this book called Home Field: Nine Writers Remember Baseball, which is just superb. The writing is great and when I read it I got that feeling like when I was a kid and really connected with the game. Anyway, if you want to read some incredible baseball short stories/memoirs, you can read them all free online here:

Trust me, it's worth your time.
